INDEPENDECE DAY CELEBRATION
WE SALUTE YOU
It gives us immense pleasure andpride to inform all of you that SFS Deoghar celebrated the 79th IndependenceDay of our Nation with all pomp and show in its campus. The splendidperformances of children from Nursery to Class XII were a grand feast to eyes,ears, head, and heart. Certainly, the mega display of the day was the fruit ofalmost two weeks’ highly dedicated and disciplined hard practice.
The celebration began at 8:25a.m. Rev. Fr. Thomas Chittookalam TOR, the former Principal of SFS and thepresent President of Franciscan Society, Bhagalpur, was the Chief Guest of theprogramme. He was led to the podium with guard of honour. Exactly at 8:30 a.m.,he hoisted the National Flag ceremoniously. It was followed by the NationalAnthem and the Pledge to the Nation.
Then the Chief Guest inspectedthe contingents. As soon as the inspection was over, the four groups of ourschool – Concord, Explorer, Patriot and Peacemaker – displayed their paradingskill in front of the patriots gathered in the SFS campus.
The next very important event wasthe formal welcoming of the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and alldistinguished guests. Rev. Fr. Abraham Koladiyil TOR, the Principal of theschool and the Master-brain of this programme who planned the A to Z of it andexecuted his dream project meticulously, formally welcomed with all formalitiesthe Chief Guest and all assembled there to the grand gala.
Thereafter began the much-awaitedcultural feast consisting of various heart-throbbing dances, patriotic songs,thought-provoking speeches of English and Hindi, and a soul-stirring skit onthe sacrifices of Great Freedom Fighters. The spell-binding performance of theSFS Band took the invitees to new heights of surprise and happiness. All theeyes were on the stars of our NCC wing when they came marching with the vigourand valour of our brave soldiers. The spectacular and breath-taking display ofTaekwondo added more colour and charm to the grand day.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. ThomasChittookalam, in his heart to heart speech not only highlighted the selflesssacrifices of our great freedom fighters but also stressed the need to upholdthe virtues of our glorious freedom. He also urged the youngsters to tread alwaysalong the path of virtue and patriotism and lead our country to the zenith ofprogress and prosperity.
Rev. Fr. Prasanjit Toppo, TOR,proposed the Vote of Thanks. In his speech he emphasised the small and bigefforts of everyone associated with this programme. The great celebration cameto an end with the National Song sung by the school choir. Certainly, the 79thIndependence Day Celebration of SFS Deoghar was one of the best celebrationsever held in this campus. Though the day is over, its memories are etched inour hearts and will linger there for a long time inspiring us to march aheadalong the true path of patriotism.

With profound grief and utmost shock , we infrom you that one of our students, Ronak Raj of VI A, son of Mr. Pinku Prasad Verma and Mrs. Sangita Devi drowned while taking bath in a pond nearby his house on Saturday,16th August, 2025.
SFS Family bid a tearful farewell to the departed soul on Monday, 18th August, 2025 during the school assembly. On behalfof the entire school family,the Principal Rev. Fr Abraham Koladiyil TOR, paid a special tribute to him in his eulogy. In addition to this, Rev. Fr Abraham Koladiyil TOR, Rev. Fr. Prasanjit Toppo TOR, the Vice Principal, Teachers and Students paid a floral tribute to the soul during the assembly.
DEAR RONAK RAJ, YOU WERE ONE OF THE BRIGHTEST STARS OF OUR SCHOOL.......YOU AND YOUR MEMORIES WILL ALWAYS REMAIN AS A GLITTERING STAR IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER AND EVER..!

Archery Game and Shooting Competitions
1. Champions archery!
SFS, Deoghar: Our studentsshowcased outstanding talent at the Regional Archery Competition held atMadhusthali Vidyapith, Madhupur on 25 July 2025, bringing pride and medals tothe school.
In the U-14 Boys and Girlscategories, Veenith Vaibhav Marandi and Aarohi Raj struck Gold.
In the U-17 Boys category,Kushagra Chandrakar earned the Bronze Medal.
In the U-19 Girls category,Shreedhi Gupta brought home a Gold Medal, while Shipra Gupta secured fourthposition.
All the students have beenselected for the National Level Archery Competition.

2. Shooting Stars Shine Bright!
SFS, Deoghar: Our sharpshootershave made the school proud at the Regional Shooting Competition held atMadhusthali Vidyapeeth on 25 July 2025.
In the U-19 Boys category, ShouryDubey clinched the Silver Medal, while Krishna Sharma brought home the Bronze.
In the U-19 Girls category,Ishita Dhanraj struck Gold and Aditi Anand Jha followed with a brilliantSilver.
Shashwat Sandilya made his markin the U-14 Boys category by securing the Silver Medal.
Adding to the celebration, all ofour talented shooters have qualified for the National Shooting Competition,scheduled to be held at Ryan International School (KA143), Bengaluru, from 2ndto 4th September 2025.

Fr. GEORGE HESS MEMORIAL ASISC INTER SCHOOL ZONAL LITERARY EVENTS 2025
SFS Deoghar Shines at ASISC Zonal Literary Competitions
St. Francis School, Deoghar hosted the ASISC Inter-School Zonal Literary Events 2025-26 on 26th July, with seven schools from the Deoghar Zone participating in Debate, Quiz, and Creative Writing competitions. The host school delivered an outstanding performance, winning top prizes across all categories. In the junior debate, Vedant Satyam secured first prize (Against the Motion) and Sanvi Burman came second (For the Motion), while in the senior category, both Ruchi Kumari (For) and Ankita Shroff (Against) won first prizes. In Creative Writing, Sanjan Gupta (Senior) won first prize, Anushka Sinha (Junior) bagged third, and Aizah Khursheed (Sub-junior) won second. The Quiz teams also brought laurels to the school: Vinayak Kashyap and Aariv Kumar Harsh won first prize in the Sub-junior category, Siddharth Virat and Newil Nir secured second prize in the Junior category, and Anushka and Nishit Shekhar clinched first prize in the Senior category. The school once again proved its excellence in literary pursuits, continuing its proud legacy.

Shreya Keshri Tops State in ISC 2024-2025
We are proud to announce that Shreya Keshri has emerged as the State Topper (Humanities) in the ISC Board Examination 2024-2025 with an outstanding score of 98.50%. In a special school assembly, Principal Fr. Abraham Koladiyil honoured her for the remarkable achievement with a cash prize of ?50,000 and a memento.
